What if Haley Joel Osment from The Sixth Sense used his I-see-dead-people abilities to solve crimes? That’s the elevator pitch for NBC’s new series The InBetween, which follows Cassie Bedford (Harriet Dyer), a psychic who experiences visions and encounters with “unsettled spirits.” When her detective father (Arrow’s Paul Blackthorne) enlists her help on a murder case, Cassie begins putting her paranormal abilities to use solving difficult cases for the city.
The show’s trailer, which EW exclusively unveils above, features plenty of the usual procedural action — visits to the morgue, crime scenes, what have you — mixed with some of the eerie imagery of Cassie’s visions, including what looks to be a rotting dead girl drawing pentagrams with fire. “Justice lives between this world and the next,” the tagline intones. (For another elevator pitch, think Ghost Whisperer meets Law & Order.)
The InBetween premieres May 29 on NBC.
